I'm not really mad about this trade. While he was on the team there were a number of posters who would not admit it, but Bouwmeester was a complete disaster over the past 4 years and him scoring 6 goals this year does not change that. We were lucky to get anything for this loser. If he plays top 2 minutes then St Louis will miss the playoffs. That has been a constant throughout Bouwmeester's entire hockey career. You'd have to go back to when this guy was 14 years old to find a team that qualified for the playoffs with him on it (he was loaned to the Chicago Wolves after they made the playoffs). So, in the end, we will end up with a 2013 4th round pick, two nothing prospects, and and 2014 first rounder. Not a great return for a legitimate top pairing defenseman, but Bouwmeester has never been that for the Flames in the first place, so I can live with the return.
