Not to mention that it's only one year left on his contract. Are they hoping to be a cap team next year, and spend max dollars on whoever is available next summer regardless of quality? I sincerely hope not. If that were an option in this trade and it was declined from our side I would be pissed. If St. Louis didn't want to do that, that's not really up to us at this point.
