Nostalgia is great and all, but it is better to get something for a player that will not be around at the end of the season. Kipper won't likely hang around for a rebuild, so it's best the Flames move him for an asset or two. The Flames are in the situation they are in because they refused to practice good asset management. Make the trade and move on, even if the pick is mid to late round pick. Something is better than nothing at this point.
