I'd still stay away from the big Russian unless all the other top end guys are gone, and to me, that includes Lindholm and Monahan.
Russian superstars are just too moody. They can be absolutely great and dominate when they feel like it, but they flake out over the littlest things.
Plus when was a last time a Russian superstar really led a team to a Stanley Cup? The Red Wing teams with Fedorov (though the best player) were led by Yzerman and that team was stacked. As dominating as Bure was for the Canucks in 94, it was Linden and Maclean who drove that bus. I can't think of any example where a Russian was THE reason why a team won a cup.
Oops, sorry missed the big one, Malkin....nevermind....still, Malkin's a centre and I think that makes a big difference.
