meh.. time to move on.
This is NOT the worst trade in history, by a long shot. Heck the phaneuf deal was about 5x worse than this trade. We did clear plenty of cap space, didn't bring in depth pieces and salary in return, we got a top 30 pick in a deep draft, and got 2 prospects in a league where the flames management appear to have a good level of scouting expertise.
This titanic hit the ice burg a year or two back, this trade finally announces that the captain(s) have finally realized it, and are trying to fix things. Better late than never (ie. letting iggy walk for nothing this offseason of course).
it is time to look on, hope that more moves are made for more prospects/picks or decent young roster players, and be optimistic that this could be the best and most important draft in the history of the franchise.
