I don't like the 'we're going to lose anyways so who cares who's playing 30 minutes' argument. Even when we're losing and rebuilding we need to have some stability and player learning.
Someone has to play those minutes. Who do you want as the Flames #1 D going forward? Bouw or Gio? If you prefer to have players learn with Gio rather than Bouw than that's fine, I can't argue that.

But I agree, you have to keep one of them - at least for a while
