A little late to the party, as I was away on holidays, so I haven't had the benefit of reading all of the comments about this trade, but am aware of the reaction from Flames fans and other fans alike to the lack of return for Iginla.

My apologies if this has already been speculated upon, but is it not conceivable that the apparent low return for Iginla is because both the Flames and the Penguins know that this is just a rental for this year only and the Jerome is not likely to stick around, especially if there is no cup at the end of the line? Sorry if this is simplistic, but I can't believe that Feaster would have wanted these players, or the horrible reported Boston offer, if there was a chance that Iginla was going to sign with the team he was traded to. I would think that in that case, the return would be greater... Just seems a little odd to me, so I'm guessing this return is based upon some other information the public and fandom is not privy too.

Edit: I could also be wrong and the Flames hockey operations see something no one else does...
