Iginla held the power with his NMC/NTC. He dictated a lot of what was going on.

Boston did not know that Iggy wanted to go to Pitt when they made the "deal" with the Flames, so everything that happened after doesn't really affect the fact that Feaster agreed to a terrible trade with the Bruins, and couldn't get the GM to even give up what Burke got him to give up for Kaberle.
So it is completely fair to judge Feaster based on what the Boston deal was going to be
