Regardless, arguing whether they have 2nd / 3rd line potenatil vs. Morrow's top-4 d-man potential is futile at this point, and it reeks of just wanting something to complain about.
There is no way to point at Morrow and conclude he's better than the late first round pick + 2 forward prospects.
At the end of the day, those who are trying to do so are just venting in my opinion. Venting because we didn't get the return for Iginla we would have had we traded him when he had term remaining on his contract.
Thems the brakes.
We gambled and lost. At the end of the day this team built a small, soft roster with absolutely no depth at centre. That facilitated the loss of Jarome Iginla for very little return when all was said and done.

Morrows was considered in the Pens organisation as one of their best prospects...Agostino and Hanowski weren't even in the top 10. So yeah, Morrow might not ever reach that potential, but he's a much better prospect and top 4 d-men are a hell of o lot harder to acquire via trade or free agency. On the other hand, 3rd line wingers....
Heck, I might not even have that much of a problem with this trade if Feaster/Weisbrood saw something in these guys and said we want them. Like Jankowski, they had their mind set on him and drafted him ahead of guys like Maata.
They seem to me like throw ins by Shero.
