After looking at the options, Despres, Harrington, Maata and Pouliot would've been awesome to get but difficult to pry for a pending UFA. However, Brian Dumoulin, a former teammate of Johnny Gaudreau at Boston College, an American defenceman would've filled a hole in the organization of a puck moving defenceman that is pro-ready.
