Here's an extreme analogy.... Say you are at work and you are hungry but have nothing to eat. You go into the lunch room and see that someone dropped a piece of pizza cheese down on the floor, so you pick it up and eat it, because... something is better than nothing. How do you suppose your colleages will look at you after seeing that happen? Sure, one or two people might think it was ballsy, but most will not be impressed.
If Feaster gives in because "something is better than nothing", how do you think future dealings will go with his colleagues? They will know that if you hold out long enough, he'll fall for scraps. In some situations, when you consider long term image problems, nothing is preferrable. Hopefully it doesn't come to that, but if the Iginla trade doesn't yield meaningful assets, I'd rather the Flames make a stand.

Feaster will look like a moron if he let's Iginla walk for nothing in the summer. Trading him for a late first rounder, which I believe, at the minimum is out there now, would be viewed at doing the prudent thing. Passing up on a first round pick for pride and to have Iginla around for the last few weeks of the season will not help the Flames or the Flames reputation in any way, shape or form.
