Bernier is a proven NHL goaltender, he had always been projected to be an NHL starting goaltender and IMO he is. Ramo is nothing, he has proven nothing in the NHL, KHL success does not necessarily mean NHL success, Cervenka had KHL success, it has not translated into NHL success (yet).
I'd rather hang my hat on a proven NHL goaltender in Bernier than some KHL goaltender who might be able to start in the NHL, pure specualtive opinion but I doubt he will ever be as good as Bernier in the NHL. A legitimate starting goaltender in the NHL does a lot for your team.
