He's acting like a 5 year old. If he plans on retiring, he should just retire and it really seems underhanded that he's manipulating the Flames because the only ones who suffer from this are the team and the fans.
Actually a lot of people do that in real life. If the circumstances of their job change they choose to leave that company or if they are old enough/have enough money they just retire.
