Every trade analysis I have heard so far always ends with something along the lines of "Nobody knows how Iginla will react to being asked to play a different/reduced role on a new team"

I really question whether the Flames would be a worse team without him this year, let alone a team who is willing to give up a significant package to aquire him.

Here, check it out for yourselves, the fact that the article is two years old is even more troubling, because Iggy hasn't improved over the last couple years.

The TL;DR version? "Every single line mate saw their possession numbers go down while skating with the club’s most expensive player.:

This has to be a joke.

The guy is single handedly responsible for a list of players making millions more than they would have had they not enjoyed extended time on his line.

The suggestion he's made line mates worse this year and last couldn't be a bigger stretch with the way the coaches have juggled 2nd - 4th line players on our top line because of a lack of depth.

There's a reason the teams supposedly interested in him are all cup favourites.

It's one thing to have a skewed minority opinion rooted in bias. It's another to suggest it's shared by NHL gerneral managers like it's somehow remotely close to being factual.
