Kypreos allued to "complications" with the pregnancy, although also stated the baby was fine. If there truely are "complications" that have made him take this stance then depending on those reasons I could actually understand his stance.
That said, if those complications aren't enough to keep him from travelling with the team, then I must admit, I'm skeptical.

Surely the Flames know his personal situation and wouldn't even consider a trade if there were issues related to his newborn child or with his wife relating to the birth.
