The NHL has a CBA, so it's a different set of rules, but that still doesn't mean a guy has to go against what he thinks is right for him and is family just to satisfy needs of a bunch of strangers.

Well shouldn't he have negotiated a NTC for the duration of his contract if he didn't want to ever be moved? Did the Flames ownership not live up to their end of the contract and pay Kipper a boatload of cash? Seems kind of one-sided to me as the Flames can't rip up the contract any time they want because they feel what's right for them may not be right for Kipper and who cares because Kipper is a stranger to the owners shelling him out millions.
