It probably limits the number of teams that would try to trade for him, but he could be traded to NYI and they could use his cap hit, while only paying $1MM and they wouldn't even have to suspend him - just pay him to stay home.
I am fine with Kipper staying here until the end of his contract (and reupping for a few more years at a discount to stay in Calgary).

Exactly. The flip side of being untradable is that that can re-sign him cheaper (assuming that he keeps playing).
People are hating on a guy because the only team he wants to play for is the Flames. Good freaking god.
