I think I may start fibbing about the breed of my dog (I'm not sure what is on his papers is correct anyways as he was the puppy of a reserve rescue. Could be pretty much anything). My dogs papers say German Shepard/Pitbull. He is the most friendly dog I know and only puts people in danger of too many licks to the face. People love playing with him but as soon as they hear the word Pitbull their attitude completely changes. They become less friendly and start to become timid and afraid of him. He doesnt look like much of a Pitbull other than his body type, but its just really starting to annoy me when I see my dog so unfairly judged.
I don't understand why owners aren't being punished for these types of attacks. Especially repeated ones. I've shown my buddy nothing but love since the day I brought him home and he gives nothing but love to everyone. I don't think its a stretch to assume that these attack dogs are generally mistreated animals. Don't really know why I took off on this tangent. Just needed a place to rant about it, this seemed like the place.
