Moreover, if Iginla has already submitted a list of his favorite teams, that would partially imply that he is ready to waive or has already waived his NTC by formal agreement. I don't see why it is such a big deal. At this point it is just a matter of time until we hear the announcement.
This is a hockey trade and it is not meant to be pretty. It will be received as egregious by many but that's the way things roll over at this time of the season.
