Yeah, I am the same age as you, and this parents brawling in the stands thing, wasn't that uncommon. We used to think it was completely awesome when the dads started kicking those big metal garbage cans around, and throwing hay makers, all over crappy PeeWee hockey.
But Old School dads were definitely a different breed. They were all old Man strengthy, looked 50 by today's standards when they were really in their mid 30's, and smelt like musty leather and Players Filter all the time. Think of 20 or so Ron Swansons watching a game, in crappy late 70's early 80's polyester suits. When I wander in to the Old Lake Bonavista Arena all those awesome old memories come back.
