I grew up playing in Okotoks so we had the pleasure of playing the reservation teams all the time. It was terrifying, they always seemed to have one guy that was rocking a full moustache at 12, and stood 6'-4" without skates on.
I was always concerned heading in except for one year when we had a team that was all goon all day, and we could go toe to toe with the thuggery. I can remember one game that featured fights in the stands, fights in the hallways, and fights on the ice. We were written up as a disgrace to Okotoks, had to change our name from the Okotoks Chiefs, and were told to stop emulating guys from Slapshot.
Our coach was a real piece of work that year. He had his nipple bit off in a bar fight at the Cecil a few years prior to taking up coaching, so it wasn't like he was all that upset at what we were doing.
Best year of hockey I ever played, which was coincidentally Bantam C. Looking back I can see how this happens. Guy on ice throws a cheapshot, parent yells at him calling him a POS, other parent in stands yells "that's my son so F you" and it's game on.
