Anyone try the new Alexander Kieths Ale that they are rolling out?
I bought a six pack of the Hallertauer Hop Ale, was really pleasantly surprised. While I was expecting something with the name "Hop" on it to have a hoppy taste, it was actually milder than expected, which for me was the only disappointing part.
It basically tastes like what you think Alexander Keith's should actually taste like, as in it actually has a good spice and body to it instead of it's usual mass produced taste. I hope it really takes off because if this becomes the norm out of the big beer companies, it will give me a lot more options at bars that usually just have Canadian, Coors etc on tap.
I think it actually does measure up to some good craft beers, and they really hit a homerun with this one. While it's still brewed to appeal to the mainstream population, I think I'll definitely be having it as my choice when I'm just having a bunch of beers and not when I'm enjoying just a beer with a steak or something.
