Risk on both trading team sides for sure.
Not sure why they wouldn't offer it though. Conditional first on him working out an extension would be a good way to try and get him locked down and lower the risk for the receiving team.
Not saying I want it for the Flames, but if I'm the trading partner, I can't make it easy.
The one issue with all this is that our hand has been flashed. Teams know he has a NTC and controls his destiny. They know the list is small (Speculative) and they know we are in a position where we really need/should move him.
I just hope that our GM handles this one diligently.
