Ironically, FDW explained how they did exactly these things you are claiming are impossible. Jankowski was playing in a league where scouts would have really stood out. I would think in that situation it would actually be really easy to determine how much a player is being scouted as Pro scouts would be a lot more noticable in high school games than in WHL games.
I honestly didn't think that level of research was outside of the realm of possibility. Good thing you are here to set everyone straight.
