That pick doesn't really worry me. Picking 14th is very different from picking in the top 5 or the top 2. There is never a clear "14th overall pick", especially in a questionable draft year.
This year is considered to be a much stronger draft year that is considerably deeper. From everyone is saying in this thread (and most discussions about this draft year) the Top5 of this draft appears to be a no brainer. Each team just needs to figure out where they will be drafting, who they feel is the BPA in that consensus top 5 and then make their pick based on their needs.
My general impression from this thread is that people are worried that if we pick MacKinnon over Drouin that Drouin will turn out to be the better player. To me this feels like splitting hairs. Regardless of which of these amazing prospects we possibly get, they would greatly help our team. I just hope that we fill our most noticable need and acquire a franchise center. If we are really lucky we will end up with two of them from the last two drafts.
