Used to feel the same way. However, this season is a pretty unique situation. We've got a shortened season, that is already out of our hands in many ways. We've also got a ton of expiring or near expiring contracts and a very deep draft coming up.
This might be the Flames' only chance to avoid a long Oiler style rebuild. We're talkign about les than 20 games of failure to ensure years of success.
The Iggy issue brings an added push. If Iggy truly wants to be a Flame until retirment, he should do what's best for the team. He should allow himself to be traded, then re-sign with the Flames for a discount. It'll ensure the team he comes back to is more competitive.
