Schremp was never considered to be in the same tier as Drouin. Scouts had many question marks about how his skills would translate to the NHL. I don't see nearly the same worries mentioned about Drouin.
I actually think Schremp was a reasonable risk to take in the late 1st round, but everyone knew he was as likely to be a strike out as a homerun (as many late 1st rounders are).
