While I don't think I will ever care as much as I did when I was a kid, my slide into apathy started about 3 years ago, when it was just too obvious this team was going nowhere and they weren't willing to change. Last year, I barely even came into any game threads, ands just worked around the perimeter of FOI.

This year for some reason I had a tinge of hope with the new coach, Hudler, Cervenka, Baertschi all coming in. I still new it was going to be a decent team at best, but I did have some positive vibes going in. I don't get mad anymore at the team, but I do sometimes get mad at people who think this team can still somehow make noise in the playoffs.

One thing I can't really bring myself to do is to just blindly cheer for this team no matter what. I tried doing that last year, and it resulted in me just caring even less. It's just too hard to ignore reality. I probably won't be really excited about this team unless I do see some sort of long-term switch in philosophy.

One thing Ive started to do though is listen more to the radio again. A lot of times, the games are just more interesting when Peter Maher is calling the action.
