Look at Crosby over the last few seasons - he's had a terrible string of luck/injuries. Obviously his pedigree is going to keep Pittsburgh from moving him, but by your logic, the Pens should have considered trading him because he was getting injured too often.
Backlund has taken a meaningful step forward this season, and it would be a mistake at this point for the Flames to trade their most promising young center.

LOL.... you honestly just compared Crosby to Backlund?!?!?!?! That's awesome! Crosby wasn't riddled with injuries the first few years of his career and even if he was, they are two different players.
Come on, now you're just trying to say things for the sake of saying them.
I want to know about these "high quality players" who've missed that much time that early in their careers. The kid has played 150 NHL games and has missed over 50.... play 3 miss 1, play 3 miss 1? The kid has been injured too often to even have a chance at being called a "high quality player" by anyone other than homeristic fans. He hasn't played enough because of his injuries, and when they're happening that frequently you have to wonder why? If it's not his fault that he gets injured, then it's bad luck and we don't need any more of that.
Hey, maybe you can compare him to Lemieux too, didn't he miss some substantial time too????
Reading your comments on here that you have some sort of bond with Backlund and feel the need to defend him.
