Sanders, who entered the NFL as a third-round draft choice of the Steelers in 2010 out of Southern Methodist, was tendered an offer worth $1.3 million by Pittsburgh. If the Patriots sign Sanders to an offer sheet, the Steelers could match it and retain him. If the Steelers don't match a potential Patriots offer, they would receive a third-round draft choice from New England.

We've already noted via Rapoport and NFL.com's Albert Breer that former Arizona Cardinals safety Adrian Wilson and former Atlanta Falcons defensive end John Abraham also will be visiting. The Patriots have signed former St. Louis Rams wide receiver Danny Amendola and return man Leon Washington in free agency thus far, and now appear to be turning their attention to the defense.

Brandon Lloyd talks contract restructure as well.

Patriots receiver Brandon Lloyd is due a $3 million roster bonus by the weekend, and the expectation has been that the club will not pick it up. But that doesn't necessarily mean that Lloyd won't be back with the team, as the sides have entered into talks on a restructured contract, sources have told ESPN.
