Pats sign Donald Jones.
Jones projects to a role as an outside receiver in the Patriots' system. Where he lands on the depth chart remains uncertain at this time, as the club figures to make multiple moves at the position this offseason. The Patriots currently have three established receivers -- Amendola, Brandon Lloyd and Jones -- under contract for 2013.
Steelers restricted free agent Emmanuel Sanders is also visiting Patriots on Friday, sources told ESPN. Sanders, who entered the NFL as a third-round draft choice of the Steelers in 2010 out of Southern Methodist, was tendered an offer worth $1.3 million by Pittsburgh. If the Patriots sign Sanders to an offer sheet, the Steelers could match it and retain him. If the Steelers don't match a potential Patriots offer, they would receive a third-round draft choice from New England.

Dwight Freeney set to visit New England Patriots
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported that Freeney will visit the Patriots on Friday. Tom Curran of Comcast SportsNet New England first had the report (Indianapolis Colts fans might want to stop reading now).
Freeney will have company in Foxborough. We've already noted via Rapoport and NFL.com's Albert Breer that former Arizona Cardinals safety Adrian Wilson and former Atlanta Falcons defensive end John Abraham also will be visiting. The Patriots have signed former St. Louis Rams wide receiver Danny Amendola and return man Leon Washington in free agency thus far, and now appear to be turning their attention to the defense.
Brandon Lloyd talks contract restructure as well.
Patriots receiver Brandon Lloyd is due a $3 million roster bonus by the weekend, and the expectation has been that the club will not pick it up. But that doesn't necessarily mean that Lloyd won't be back with the team, as the sides have entered into talks on a restructured contract, sources have told ESPN.
