It drives me absolutely crazy to think that the Trade Deadline could come and go with nothing significant done.
Just to reiterate what people on here have already said (and for my own recollection)... we could have:
Iginla - 1st and a prospect
Tanguay - 1st or 2nd and a prospect
Cammallery - 1st or 2nd and a prospect
Bouwmeester - 1st and a prospect
or
Giordano - 2nd and a prospect
Kiprusoff - 1st and a prospect
Stempniak - 2nd and possible prospect
Now obviously this is an oversimplification of everything, but IMO some of these happening are realistic. All? No, that's too many buyers. But some? Absolutely.
That would leave our team still filling a roster with Stajan, Backlund, Baertschi, Brodie, Gio/Bouw, Ramo, MacDonald, Gaudreau, Glencross, Smith, Wideman, Hudler, and Cervenka plus whoever above is still on the team?
AND possibly re-signing Iginla next year?
Plus with this years draft, and the prospects I could see us getting back for Iginla, Bouw and Kipper... we could be adding 3-5 NHL ready prospects as early as next year (if this years Draft really produces what it's hyped to produce). Plus what we'd be adding to the pipeline for the next years to come.
I really hope Feaster is looking at the fun they're having in Montreal right now realizing that this is our year to make a splash. I know that Montreal didn't blow it up, but their jump is certainly coming from their added youth.
