Top teams, winners, tend to have top players and top offensive (or defense) players as their leaders. It's not the muckers, it's not the grinders, it's not Todd Simpson's or Cory Sarich's of the world.
You have exceptions, like there are to any rule. Scott Stevens wasn't a top offensive player (at the time) but elite players in their positions tend to be captains.
But you knew all this.

I wasn't every trying to insinuate that you were, just that, I hope they don't stick it on Baert or Brodie or Backlund or Hudler or whatever.
Rotate it until you get a player specifically to be captain. Whether ti's a 18 year old landeskog clone or a 37 year old Dave Lowry clone.
