We basically sacrifice all that divisional play for more games against the East which is great!
Current configuration:
Own Division x 6 = 24 games
Own Conference x 4 = 40 games
Other Conference = 18 games
New Configuration:
Own Division x 5 (or 4 for one team) = 29 games
Own Conference x 3 = 21 games
Other Conference x 2 games each team = 32 games

The big sacrifice is all the conference play (inter-division) for the increase in games against the eastern teams.
