I admire your posts usually but please don't state your opinion of things as facts. I choose to see the bright side of the game, or acknowledge the bad of the game. The Flames played a lousy game and won, so I am happy. Monday they played a good game and lost, again I am happy. Me telling everyone else how to react to the games doesn't accomplish anything and makes it really hard to read some of these threads

No, there are a 101 things I could say to justify why the Flames are not very good. My point was that they have got victories against backups, if the Flames get back into the race they will not likely be facing backups at the frequency they have so far this season. To date they have faced the following backups
1) 6-3 Loss to Colorado (Giguere in net)
2) 3-2 OT Loss to Hawks (Emery in net)
3) 7-4 Win over Dallas (Bachman in net)
4) 5-2 Loss to Blues (Allen in net)
5) 4-3 Win over Dallas (Bachman in net)
6) 3-1 Loss to LA (Bernier in net)
7) 4-1 Victory over San Jose (Griess in net)
8) 5-2 Victory over Detroit (Gustaffson in net)
If one eliminates the Vancouver and Anaheim games since they more or less go with a true rotation (this being 5 games) the Flames have played 40% of their games against backups. If you want to include the backups (goalies who have played less games) in the Vancouver and Anaheim matchups, you can add on 1 game with Hiller in net and 1 game with Luongo in net. Which would be 10 out of 25 or still 40%. Playing 40% of your games against backups is a high number in the NHL (the average starter plays around 70% of the games). My only point was that the Flames have benefited from low expectations from other teams thus they have faced backups more. If they get into the hunt again, that will change and the percentage of starters they will face will go up.
The Flames right now it could be argued have benefited from facing backups, going 5-4-1 against backups. It is not unreasonable to suggest that if they face starting goaltenders they will have a more difficult time getting victories than against backups.
