I actually have some really fond memories of that era, because the team was such a rag tag, cobbled together, piece of crap... especially in the late 90's. Kinda like a beat up old car you didn't have the heart to get rid of.

Same here... no expectations.
Best memory? Fred Brathwaite and his first NHL game (1-0 win against Dallas when Dallas was on something like a 8 game winning streak and we were on a 7 game losing streak)
Most embarrassing? I have 2... the 7-0 loss to the expansion Columbus BJ's and our 1st line C (Jeff Shantz) traded to Colorado and immediately becomes their 14th forward and is called the worst NHL player they had ever seen. Ouch.

Yup... we've pretty much come full circle now. Except we spend money now.
