I think with Goalies it's such a crap shoot that they are pretty much impossible to rank. I really don't judge the Flames for choosing Kidd over Brodeur, no scouts can determine what goalie develops into a starter. That's why I am 100% against drafting a goalie in the first round.
I think the best strategy with regard to goaltenders is to draft a solid goaltender every draft, and hope that one becomes a starter. I think that is what the Flames are doing, Ortio, Brossoit, and Gilles all at least have potential. Draft another one this year and be patient with all of them. You never know what you might get
