Yeah, that seems a logical progression.
I think, though, my preference would be for him to hire 'his guy' as soon as possible, so the rest of the season could be devoted to 'that' guy's learning the intricacies of the organization, assessing our prospect pool and asset base, evaluating players under contract, etc., while Burke handles the immediate demands of the trade deadline. That way we get to draft day with a table full of people who've been working in the organization for longer than a few weeks.
But I put the odds of this rumour being true at less than 5%, so this probably won't amount to much more than wild speculation & fantasy.
