I've had this discussion with several friends of mine. I'm all for Iginla giving up the C and rescinding his leadership role on the team. However I haven't seen any player(s) capable of taking that role over. That's the biggest failure of this team. Iginla shouldn't be the best player on this team anymore but he still is. That is frankly unacceptable, and it demonstrates horrible drafting, development and talent acquisition by the Flames. This should be someone elses team by now, and it should be obvious who. But until another player emerges as a leader, Iginla will still be the leader because he's still better than all the second rate talent on the team. This is not an indictment on Iginla in any way, it rests squarely on the organization and their management over the years.

Its actually infuriating to know that they just pissed away the best years of Iggy and Kipper's careers. If I were them I would've left long ago.
