How many years does Iginla have left in the tank? 4? 5? Another Teemu Selanne like 7+?
I don't doubt for a second that Iginla settles in Calgary long term after his hockey career is over, but who's to say he doesn't do 2-3 years elsewhere and return for a swan song season in Calgary?
So many people seem to want to apply either the Bourque or Sundin narrative to Iginla when really those are the extremes (great success on one end, nightmare on the other) when really this could play out in a number of ways.
Obviously I'd like to see Iginla retire as a Flame, but I'd also like to see him get his name on the cup, but the two events are not mutually exclusive, nor are either guaranteed.
