The ball is in Iginla's court, but our management has to put some pressure on him at some point. The trade deadline is in 3 weeks - you have to had a good idea of whether he's staying or not before then otherwise they're simply not doing their job. Like was said in the article, the Flames basically have to make their decision on Iginla in 1-2 weeks from now to give themselves time to negotiate a trade (given how much say Iginla will have in where he goes) and considering the Flames and Iginla haven't talked I don't know how there's even time anymore.
A team like the Flames simply can't afford to lose Iginla for nothing even if his value is deflated over what it would've been a year or two ago.
