Hudler and Wideman are exactly what I expect them to be, and I think they fulfill their role just fine. The problem is that their role is supposed to be secondary, not primary.
That primary role is supposed to be filled by Iginla, Gio and Cammalleri. But don't blame the 2nd liners just because those at the top aren't doing their job.
