The last draft was really deep on D men - I don't ever remember 8 of the top 10 picks being defencemen, yet despite their desperate need somehow the Oilers draft another waterbug forward who doesn't backcheck. I understand the principle of taking the best player available but wonder if they'd take the rumored trade down and rather have Reinhart and a decent asset than Yakupov in retrospect.
I know how ridiculously early and he's young but he looks like the worst of their 1st overall picks to me by a good margin. Very one dimensional player who scores a flamboyant goal every 5 or 6 games and doesn't backcheck or answer the bell physically the other 80% of the time.
Oh well, looks like they'll get another shot at a top 3 pick this year. Add Seth Jones into the mix and all they need is 4 more dmen, a goalie and a handful of forwards with some sandpaper.
