It will be interesting to see what happens if they don't improve by next year. RNH will likely be looking at a raise at least close to Eberle/Hall. That could be 18M for 3 forwards in a very bad team. The next year comes and Yakupov and Schultz come looking. Even next year, having 17M locked up to Hall, Eberle and (hehe) Horcoff means one quarter of your salary cap on three players that aren't quite helping you do anything.
Ganger is a UFA (RFA?) after this season and is putting up the best numbers on the team, so what does he get?
This is the trouble in my mind of starting the kids so early. It's not just the RFA years you lose, but their first RFA contract will reflect their NHL experience. If they don't take you somewhere, it's now wasted.
