No, that is not a prime example of why a team should not do a "full sellout" because the Oilers never did that in the first place. People keep saying that they burned it to the ground, but who exactly did they trade? Underachieving Penner? Aging Visnosky? Useless Staois? Sorry, that is not a full rebuild. What they did is really no different than what just about every team in the NHL does. The reason that they are where they are is because of pure incompetence at the managerial level. Has nothing to do with a "full sellout".
