I still can't believe how arrogant Oilers fans were prior to the season.. Some of the worst showboating and rival bashing I've seen before a single game being played. The Saddest part of it all is that the media went along with it too, and bought in to the ridiculous hype without once tempering their expectations knowing full well how the last 3 years played out. Pathetic on their part. You think you should feel sorry for them, but it's not even worth it, cause the second they feel things are on the upswing, they throw it in your face. Anyways I predicted that Edm would start out strong, but once again fall apart later on and fail to keep motivated as a team.. And well well, here we are again.
They are a prime example of why we should never do a full sellout and 'blow up' of the team. Shedding pieces for future is good, but keep the team at least TRYING to win and be competitive. The Oilers can't remember how to win because they were never winning before, the only thing familiar to them is last place in the league.. so it doesn't feel 'wrong', when it absolutely should.
