Anything illegal
is shut down. PsYcNeT is purposely misleading people into thinking Reddit actively facilitates the sharing of illegal content; it does not.
For better or worse, the site owners have chosen to draw the line for what type of content they will allow at "anything legal is permissible". So child porn is prohibited, but all kinds of nasty, distasteful, and morally-questionable-but-not-illegal content is permitted. After the /r/jailbait scandal, they added an additional rule banning sexualized images of underage children even if it doesn't meet the legal definition of CP (e.g. photos of teenagers wearing bikinis).
