Been wondering this for a while. Assuming they'd still be considered exciting enough for Shultz to sign, would they not be a much more balanced and stable young core. Seems like a hindsight is 20/20 type deal, but considering the closeness at the time of seguin and hall, and assuming in a dead heat a smart franchise would build around a centre (god knows we want to), then we can say they likely wound have gone for a winger to play with eberle and seguin. Landeskog gets picked. And last year plenty of people outside the oilers organization saw the benefit to trading down and picking Murray (or just taking him #1). Not that I'm upset, I enjoy watching the oilers spin their tires and assume a team of skill guys under 6' with poor veteran leadership will become "something special".
