I agree. I am hoping it is more under Maxis' control. I know some people will think I am nuts but I wouldn't mind The Sims model, although I still think that is not the direction they will go. I know there are some people who HAVE to have all of the expansions even if they will never use them but The Sims expansions are always very specific and if that aspect of the game doesn't interest you, you don't buy it. I still basically play the base game of The Sims 3 when I do install it from time to time.
