Nobody stepped up when McDonald got plowed, and nobody stood up when Stajan took the head shot against the Wild.

It might cost you a powerplay when you have a guy like McGratton patrolling the ice, but with a guy like McGratton who was pretty effective tonight, the smaller players and softer players can play a bit bigger, and teams don't throw the same kind of crap at you.

You look at tonight, the Canucks didn't have an answer to Calgary's physical game, and Calgary picked up the hitting something that's been lacking.

The more I think about it, the more I'm ok with it.
True. But Bouma has shown, even in his few games with Calgary, that he always sticks up for team mates, not afraid to fight, and he's quite a pest.

That said, I'm glad the flames brought a more nuclear option. I think after Jackman got his lip busted open on his first and only fight of the season, he's been hesitant to fight. Problem is he hasn't done much else to stay in the line up. He has scored an important goal, but he didn't get mixed up in the game, make hits, or go after guys after our goalies were run. And the opposition weren't afraid he would. That's why mcgratton was a good pickup.

Make no mistake about it people, he was a win now pickup. Not win in the future!
