Just doing it with my stopwatch, I consistently get around 3.0-3.1. Given that the 2.9 could have actually been 2.99 for all we know from this video, that's around .1-.2 seconds error or less. For highschool ball, I think that's about as accurate as you can possibly hope for, though you're technically right, it seems to take a little longer than 2.9.

Also, this reminds me of the classic Mo Peterson buzzer beater, but for some reason I always enjoy seeing high-school kids make crazy shots more than the pros, because you know it's going to be one of the highlights of their life.
